"Everyone is valued and takes responsibility for the
challenging learning that takes place"

Overview

Homework is an integral and important part of a child’s education. The assignment of homework is based on the following principles:

  • Homework assists students in improving their academic skills.
  • Homework assists students in the development of study skills.
  • Homework reinforces the ideas and concepts presented in class and is based on the goals and objectives of the curriculum.
  • Homework involves parents/guardians in their child’s education and helps them to monitor progress. Homework helps students develop values, such as: responsibility, independence, time management and perseverance.

Homework is mostly issued on a week by week basis.  The homework on Education City should be available over a two week period; if your child has issues accessing it, the ICT suite is available during lunchtimes. Children can also use the Play Live facility to compete against other children in a safe on-line environment. Please contact your child’s class-teacher if you require any assistance.

Children are also expected to read daily and practice their times-tables and number bonds. All children are invited to participate in the termly homework project.
