A woolly great day

Join us for woolly Jumper Day 2014. It’s the perfect way for your school to have some end-of-term festive fun while raising money to help save children’s lives. Friday 12th December, children and staff donate money to Save the Children charity. The money you raise will help save lives. Just £2 could pay for potentially life-saving antibiotics to treat three babies with infections. Thank you for your support.

Children in Need Friday 14th November

Children in Need Friday,14th November

Be a Hero for Pudsey!  Children can make a donation to dress up either in non school uniform or as a hero for the day. This could be a superhero, someone who inspires them eg. sporting hero, music hero, etc.

Also we would like to hold a cake sale at playtime so any help with providing cakes to sell on this day would be greatly appreciated.

From Mrs Lovat and the School Council

Fundraising for Sports Relief!

A massive thank you to all the children who raised money for Sports Relief. We completed 522 miles in total – the equivalent to running to Lichfield and back 44 times!

We managed to raise a grand total of £2212.75!

Well done to everyone involved and a big thank you to Mrs Lawson and Mr Parkes for organising it so successfully!

OFSTED

OFSTED Inspectors will be visiting Flax Hill Junior School on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st March 2012.

Sport Relief Mile

The children have taken home sponsor forms for the Flax Hill Sport Relief Mile, which we are running on Friday, 23rd March (weather permitting!).

Children will need to have PE kits and a drink with them on the day. (Reserve day is Friday, 30th March).

After the run, children will need to collect in their sponsor money and bring it into school, so that we can keep a record of the total amount of money raised by Flax Hill.   Payment can be made in cash or by cheque.   However, please can cheques be made payable to Sport Relief 2012 (Schools) not Flax Hill.

If you need any further information, please contact Mrs Lawson via the School Office.

Book Fair

We are holding our annual Scholastic Book Fair in the ICT suite from Monday 23rd January to Friday 27th January 2012. The fair will be open from 3.13pm until 4.00pm each day and we will be able to accept payment by cash or cheques.

For every pound spent, Flax Hill will receive 60p to spend on books and resources for our classrooms.

There will be a huge selection of books to appeal to all ages.

Further information and order forms can be obtained from school.
